TAMASHA by Abhishek Khedekar

インド人アーティスト、アビシェーク・ラジャラム・ケーデカール（Abhishek Rajaram Khedekar）の作品集。第一回「Publishing Performance residency and book award」を受賞した作者は、彫刻、コラージュ、リアプロプリエーションを用いて、インドの農村の労働者たちの光景に感じる共感覚を捉えた。 実験的なドキュメンタリー／フィクションである本作の制作にあたり、1800年代にさかのぼる歴史を持つ、ダンス、音楽、ビジュアルアートを融合した民族舞踊「タマシャ（TAMASHA）」を演じる100人のダリット（不可触民）の「家族たち」からなる遊牧民の一座を追いかけた。独立後のインドで農村に伝わってきた舞踊や歌が廃れると同時に、タマシャもまた社会的な烙印を押され、二極化され、零落していった。マハーラーシュトラ州のあちこちを旅して制作された本作は、アーカイブ資料、コラージュ、ドキュメンタリー写真、パフォーマンス、サウンド、動画を用いた多種多様な芸術的手法を駆使して、インドの社会文化的構造の複雑さを深く掘り下げている。 実験的なビジュアルナラティブからなる作者のブリコラージュは、限られたもので何とかやっていく作者の舞台が成す飾らない姿勢を、歌、コミュニティ、表現のユニークな美学へと昇華させ、現代インドにおけるタマシャの伝統の位置づけを示している。 作者は、写真とパフォーマンスの接点に焦点を当てたアーティストレジデンシーおよび出版物に贈られる「パブリッシングパフォーマンス2022」の受賞者である。本作は、イタリアのスポレートにある「マーラー＆ルウィットスタジオ（Mahler & LeWitt Studios）」でのアーティスト・イン・レジデンスにて、版元であるLoose Jointsが編集、デザイン、出版を手掛け、作品集として制作された。 published by LOOSE JOINTS

He took on the John Muir Trail (210-mile) in 2024. There was a wilderness that made his nostalgic, and he felt as he was in the time when the earth was born. 「水の流れ」　~Living water~ by Mikito Hyakuno This is Mikito's first personal photo book. Book title comes from a literary book by Clarice Lispector. 「水の流れ」　~Living water~ 100 pages, size : 18.2×24cm, 150copies Cover art by Taikou Kaneda printed by inuuniq 「わたしが存在する」が世界であり、時のない世界。大自然や大量の人々を目の前に非日常的な旅の写真という枠の中で、何処に自分は位置しているのかを常に意識され突き付けられた。この水の流れという写真集は様々な事象たちを目撃して、芽生えた意識たちが、多様なモチーフらとで構成。わたしが撮っているのは空気の音楽。世界の形成。やがて存在するものが、少しずつ近づいてくる。そしたらすでに存在している。今回、左ページにアメリカのロードトリップ、右ページにはインドでの一人旅でレイアウトを一定のリズムで鼓動するよう固定。一重に極端に違く、分断されているかのような対象らでも、そこにはまた別のストーリーが流れる。片方がわたしだったら、もう片方は貴方。比較対象ではなく、対話でもある。そこに自分がいたことによって写真になり、それが見ている貴方のまたその別の話に繋がってくる。それも偶然のようで必然だったりする。 　3月のインド旅の寝台列車で写真フォルダーを整理していた時に、2018年のスクリーンショット履歴から出てきた「クラリッセ・リスペクトル」という作家に再び出会い、"水の流れ"という本の日本語訳が帰国後に発売され、読み進めていると今伝えたい言葉たちだった。タイトルはそこから拝借しています。自分自身の等身大な本。自己紹介のような卒業文集のような。自分と出会った事がある人、これから知る人にも見てほしい本です。時が廃絶しても、これを書いてることも読むものではなく、存在するもの。 「わたしは自由なのだろうか？どうでもいいようなものになお捕られている。あるいは自分をそれに繋ぎ留めているのだろうか？こういうことでもある。すべてと結合しているからといって、わたしは完全に自由であるわけではない。というか、ひとりの人間はすべてである。自分を担ぐのが重いわけではない。単純に、自分を担ぐわけではないから。人は自らとして存在し、同時にすべてである。どうやらわたしは初めて物々のことを理解しようとしているらしい。自分を超越しないために、わたしは物々に到着しようとしていないだけのようだ。自分を若干怖れている。信頼できる人間ではないし、自分の偽の力に猜疑を抱いてもいる。これは、能わざる者の言葉。私には何も操れない。自分の言葉たちさえも。でも悲しくはない。陽気な謙虚さを感じる。わたしは傍に生きている。入ってくる者の左側にいる。そしてわたしの中で世界が身悶える。このあなたへの言葉は、雑然としているだろうか？そうでないことを望む。わたしは雑然とした人間ではないから。むしろわたしは万華鏡のよう。魅惑的に煌めく自分の変貌を、わたしは万華鏡のようにここに書き留める。自分を深掘りするため、少し休もうと思う。またあとで戻ってくる。」 -水の流れ-より一部抜粋 写真集後書きより 「旅をしていると、非日常的ではあるけれども自然と其々の地で似た光景が想起されたり、デジャヴが多々ある。また偶然出会ったはずの人や対象も振り返ってみるといくつもの順が廻って出逢うから必然であったりもする。それは今まで自分が積んできた行いが善悪ともに導き導かれることでやってくるのだ。 生きていると日常だけでは明らか物足りないのだが、日常の地続きでならないと地に足がつかない。非現実的体験ばかりでは中心が穴が空いている状態になる。非日常の中の日常あるいは日常の中の非日常。やはり旅は暮らしそのものでもあり時より超えてくるそのものを受け入れることも必要とされる。心で受け止める幅が広くなればなるほど、すなわち命で遊んだ数だけ人は逞しくなる。これは1人の写真小僧の残物にしかならないかもしれないが、私が貴方に話したい話はそのまま貴方の中の話にある。これは、私があなたが存在するのを妨げない。その代わりにだからあなたも私が存在するのを妨げないで欲しい。今日の話をしている。その瞬間はまた過ぎ去って、また過ぎる。永遠というのは耳障りだ。存在するすべてのものは、始まったこともない。分断よりも調和を。ある種の流れや循環は、あなたが見てる今に届くかもしれない。」 Living Water Afterword When I had a jurney, I naturally recall similar scenes in each place, even though out of the ordinary, and often have deja vu. Also, when I look back, I realize people and things I met by chance were inevitable because I met them in many different orders. This comes about because the actions I have accumulated up until now, both good and bad, have guided me. It is clear that daily life alone is not enough, but I cannot get my feet on the ground unless I am connected to the everyday. If I only have unrealistic experiences, I feel like I have a hole in my center. The everyday in the extraordinary, or the extraordinary in the daily life. After all, travel is life itself, and it is also necessary to accept the things that transcend time. The wider the scope of what you can accept in your heart, that is, the more you play with life, the stronger you become. This may only be the remains of one photo boy, but the story I want to tell you is in your story. This is not me preventing you from existing. In return, I would like you not to prevent me from existing. I am talking about today. That moment will pass and pass again. Eternity is harsh. Everything that exists has never begun. Harmony over division. A certain flow or circulation may reach the present you are looking at.

草木染色家の木霊とBong Sadhuのアーティスト百野幹人の展示シリーズ浮草のzine。 表紙は藍で紙染めをし、さしこ糸で製本。ページ内に実際に展示で使用した布の切れ端を貼り付けてあり、写真では正確にはわからない色を自身らの目で確認することができます。写真は記録する物であるけれども、撮影者の目で確認した視点で事物を伝達することであり、実物とは異なります。写真との距離間-このプロジェクトで写真における記録性を実験的に図ることも目的の１つです。このプロジェクトは多種多様な場所を変えてまたレコードするを繰り返して在り場を浮遊するシリーズです。 -Floating Weeds- 1 Exihibition venue : conglomerate ii , Tokyo in December 2024 by Mikito Hyakuno, Kodama Photos of live decoration in Oppala by Yuto Yamamura Patchworks at Diego by the river and Ace General Store Film supported by polaroid asia Printed in Enoshima, Japan May 2025. This will be an important project, not just as a record, but as something to create and experience.

カレル・マルテンスは、オランダのグラフィックデザイナー、教育者、アーティスト。 インディペンデント精神あふれる実験的な作品は、グラフィックや印刷の根源的な可能性を再発見することができる。本書は、カレル・マルテンスが1962年から1963年にかけて、恋人ルースに宛てて送った46通の手紙の封筒を収めた一冊。 すべての封筒は、印刷インクとスプーンという最小限の手段を用い、彼自身の手で一点一点制作されたもの。軍役中、プリンス・ヘンドリック兵舎内の厚生部隊の製図室に配属されていたマルテンスは、その限られた環境の中で、密やかな愛情と創造性を封筒というかたちに託した。軍務の傍ら、「軍務の話は口外するな、敵が聞いている」といったプロパガンダ・ポスターをデザインする任務も担っていた彼の、もうひとつの顔がここにある。 本書は、公共と私的、制約と自由、美と感情の交差点に立ち現れる、グラフィックデザインの原点とも呼べる記録である。ブックデザインもマルテスによるもの。 published by Roma Publications

本書はカンザスシティの使われなくなった温室の中で見つかった、園芸・農業に関する百科事典から引用された一冊。2011年にその本を見つけた著者は、農業というそれまで彼女にとって未知であった分野を、偶然的なきっかけで知ることとなった。探究へのプロセスを大事にし、この分野にのめり込んだ彼女は、自分と同じよう、多くの人のキッカケとなってほしいという思いから本書を制作した。

SPACE CAN… by Augustas Serapinas

Paging through, the reader is party to a meditation on disappearing architecture, on preservation or destruction, on utility and decoration, and on whole objects and fragments. And if the remnant of a beam eaten by insects can encapsulate the whole building from which it was taken, this publication condenses both an exhibition and an ongoing artistic practice. Focuses on Serapinas’ artistic approach on space. It offers deeper insights into his latest solo exhibition at the Galerie Tschudi in Zuoz and provides an overview of his most important exhibitions. Space Can… opens and closes entering and leaving Augustas Serapinas’ winter exhibition at Tschudi gallery in the Engadin village of Zuoz in 2023. Serapinas’ exhibition filled the spaces of the medieval Chesa with buildings of a different vernacular. The shingles of a roof covered a stone wall, a whole A-frame roof occupied one gallery, and a structure assembled from massive, crossed beams rose up to meet the building’s own beams in the tallest space. Found elements from Lithuanian buildings that had been destined for destruction became sculpture – or at least something less architectural – in an art context. Decorative but functional shutters became relief works and ceramic ovens stood alone, akin to empty plinths. The buildings that Serapinas worked with in this exhibition are of a disappearing rural type, one which has largely become outmoded. They differ in wood used and the methods of crafts employed in the Swiss building; little more than a chance of fate allows one building to be carefully restored while others are dismantled. Nevertheless, by relocating the Lithuanian building parts and re-framing them in a Swiss gallery, the artist enables them to communicate unexpected significance. That exhibition’s title Wood and Snow is echoed in the publication’s material, which documents the exhibition on interleaved pages of white and unbleached fibre. The reader gains two perspectives on the objects when the same image is printed using distinct processes. It is unmistakably the same piece, yet appears quite different. Thus the publication undermines both the idea of a neutral space in which to exhibit objects, and photography as a means to document what an object looks like.
